GIOVANNA & LORENZO

“It doesn’t need to be a typical wedding; we want it to be a party!!! A swim suit and pool side party” … and that’s how it was!!!

27 July 2019

Giovanna and Lorenzo, a truly legendary couple, I think this adjective is perfect for them. I still remember when Giovanna wrote to me for the first time; it was January and she wanted to get married on a Saturday in July…she left me her mobile number so I called her right away to let her know that to get a Saturday in July would be very difficult to find. But my concerns immediately found an easy resolution: “but we are getting married at our house, on the country estate in Umbria”. From them on it was a walk in the park…
Knowing them was truly an honour for me, as well as their family. They always made me feel at home, well-liked and at ease! Giovanna turned out to be a relaxed bride, one of those where “if only they could all be like that” and Lorenzo was always ready to help with a smile.
Their country estate is truly a beautiful place, dressed up for the party thanks to the help of Antonella Cricchi, who following the bride’s instructions, used wildflowers and glass bottles. The feel of the wedding was for it to be a real pool party. Therefore, on the invites the dress code was indicated: flip flops, swimsuits and sarongs! Their friends did not disappoint.
Whilst Lucaroni Catering (Claudio thanks again for everything) prepared the buffet tables for lunch, Giovanna was getting ready in the house with Orietta. The dress was truly delicate, layered with light white fabric and studded with poppy petals, and with little touches the bride modified her look between the ceremony and the lunch. A belt and white shoes for the ceremony and a belt and red shoes for the lunch…then of course always with poppies adorning the dress as this was the brides favourite flower. We however did not use this flower in the decorations as its very delicate and being the end of July, it would have immediately been destroyed in the heat.

The civil ceremony was officiated in La Rocca di Ficulle, a village full of character just above their home. At the end of the ceremony guests and the newlyweds were greeted by every delicacy, prepared in a quick and fresh way by Lucaroni’s magnificent Umbrian caterers. The house and the park mainly were all organised and put in order by Lorenzo and his nieces and nephews. Everyone helped, and the morning of the wedding with the bride’s mother we put the menus at each guest’s place setting.
After the lunch, everyone showed off their swimsuits and relaxed by the pool or in the pool! It was a real party, with the Musicarancio DJ playing and entertaining all the guests. The cakes had been made by Fabro’s Patisserie and I have to say that they delighted the palates of all the guests. A truly successful Wedding, a party with friends where all formality was completely banned! A real success, which we are able to relive thanks to the splendid photos taken by BenniCarol photography.
